The Progressive Party, founded in 1948, was a left-wing political party in the U.S., led by former Vice President Henry A. Wallace. It focused on progressive policies such as civil rights, anti-imperialism, and social welfare. The party opposed the Cold War and advocated for peaceful coexistence with the Soviet Union. However, it struggled due to accusations of Communist sympathies and dissolved by 1955.
